The Challenge

A busy gym that needed its website to do more

The Unit Gym in Clara, County Offaly, is far more than a room full of weights: two fully equipped gym floors, a timetable that runs from Pilates to Hyrox, kids’ strength and conditioning, its own café and team-building days for companies and clubs. It needed a website that could keep up – one where people could book a class or join without picking up the phone, that showed everything the gym offers, and that helped people nearby find it when they searched for a gym.

What We Did

Gym website design, online class booking and local SEO

We designed and built a WordPress website for The Unit Gym, with classes to book and pay for online, a membership sign-up and pages the team can update themselves.

The class timetable is at the heart of the site. Visitors see what’s on and how many places are left, book and pay online in a couple of clicks, and manage their own bookings – so classes fill without the team chasing, and the front desk spends less time on the phone. The team add new classes, courses and prices from the dashboard.

Joining is just as simple. The membership page sets the plans and passes out side by side, from monthly and annual memberships to student and over-55s rates, and the sign-up form takes people’s details and how they’d like to pay, ready for the team to set them up.

The rest of the site shows what makes The Unit more than a gym: a video of the gym floor on the home page, the facilities and equipment, the café and its menu, and team-building days. News & Events keeps members up to date with challenges, offers and community news, and the team post to it themselves. Every page is set up for local search, from its title and description to structured data that tells Google it’s a gym in Clara with its opening hours – and the site has steadily improved its local search rankings since launch.
